Can I use the private SSL for the primary domain with an addon domain?

Unfortunately you cannot use the private SSL for the primary domain with an addon domain. This is because an account may have only one SSL certificate and it works for the domain it is initially issued for.

Thus to secure the website under an addon domain, you have to transfer the addon to a new account and order a SSL there.
