FTP Settings for a Joomla 1.5 Installation

One of the steps during a Joomla 1.5 installation is the FTP configuration. If you wish to use this feature, you should fill the fields as follows:

 

Enable FTP File system Layer - Yes

 

FTP User: your cPanel username

 

FTP Password: your cPanel password

 

FTP Root Path: /public_html (if your Joomla is in a subdirectory, you need to specify the path to the subdirectory - i.e. /public_html/subdirectory)

 

Under Advanced Settings you should type:

 

FTP Host: yourdomain.com

 

FTP Port: 21

 

You should also make sure the PHP version for the Joomla folder is 5.2. More information on how to change the PHP version for your account is available in this article.
