After you upload a picture to your Gallery, it is possible to experience problems with the generation of a thumbnail for it.

The solution is to navigate to the Site Admin > Plugins area and disable all the Graphics Toolkits except NetPBM.

This way thumbnails will be generated with the NetPBM tool and your issue will be resolved.
