The DOCman extension is a document management solution for Joomla. The basic DOCman features include:

• manage documents in multiple categories and subcategories
• assigning users level permission for upload, download and document edit
• storing documents either locally or remotely for your system

Note that the DOCman extension is native for Joomla 1.0.x and available only in legacy mode for Joomla 1.5.x.

Joomla DOCman can be installed as any other Joomla extension. Again bear in mind that legacy module should be enabled in order to use it with Joomla 1.5. The Joomla DOCman extension can be acquired from the DOCman official website.
